Human Resource Analyst 2 – HR Business Partner ODOT16-0807oc – Portland This position is with Central Services Division, Human Resources in Portland, Oregon.  Human Resources (HR) provides centralized and dispersed services department-wide such as employee development and training, employee relations, labor relations and labor contract negotiations, recruitment, employee civil rights, classification and compensation, records, and position management.  This position is with the Employee Relations Unit, reporting to HR Headquarters in Salem, and serves as one of two HR Business Partners for the Highway Division in the Portland Metro area. The HR Business Partner provides full range professional employee relation recommendations, advice and assistance to managers, supervisors and employees. This includes performance management, Family and Medical Leave Act and Oregon Family Leave Act (FMLA/OFLA) program, the interactive process of the ADA, contract interpretation, investigation of misconduct, preparing disciplinary letters, recommendations of corrective actions, responding to corresponding grievances, and the recruitment and classification review processes. The HR Business Partner acts as the Human Resources Business Partner for a diverse and broad customer base working collaboratively with other HR professionals, union stewards and directors, and at times, independently provide consistent, accurate recommendations to managers.   • Duties are performed in a professional office environment (Old Town Portland location).
  • Business needs require instate travel to travel to field offices and to attend meetings.
  • Work involves frequent interruptions, handling multiple/conflicting priorities and tight deadlines, requires ability and willingness to work flexible hours as needed and includes occasional evening and weekend work.
